Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work as a member of a cross functional team who provides technical guidance, direction, written instruction and training as related to testing of electrical and fiber optic cable and penetrator assemblies.- Test Engineering support of major Wire Harness, Fiber Optic, and RF Cable Assembly projects.- Provide leadership and technical Testing support to production, manufacturing, and quality engineering. - Develop Manufacturing Test process and procedures.- Executes the procurement and installation of materials, tools, fixtures and equipment and all other duties as assigned.- Works closely with production and engineering by communicating and facilitating recommendations and design changes as applicable.- Assists production flow by facilitating 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process flow diagrams as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: - Directly supervises 5 to 7 employees in the Test Department.- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.- Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.- Records Test production by completing weekly shift report.- Review and approval of employee timesheets.- ‘Hands on’ and on the production floor supporting the test operation. Technical working knowledge of test equipment is required.- Designs fixtures and tooling evaluates processes for increased throughput and troubleshoots issues on products and processes.- Conducts Root Cause Analysis following an 8D or DMAIC process; leads team members in the implementation of corrective and preventative actions as required.- Develops work cell layouts and critical processes- Generate assembly and inspection instructions for manufacturing processes.- Develop processes and identify equipment needed to perform the work.- Achieve cost improvement goals by utilizing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Teledyne is seeking an Electrical Industrial Engineer with having a background of leading teams that are responsible for creating automated control systems that will be core tenants for managing the laboratory under construction. It is envisioned that the efforts that are created and implemented under the authority of this role will be used to actively monitor the laboratory during live fire wind tunnel testing. The logic and features of the system will ensure that testing is safe, run efficiently and maintains an operational readiness for use.The applicant will also have experience in creating and maintaining logic control systems that will be critical for maintaining the laboratory environment. Experience applying these skills related to high pressure systems is plus. Experience with state of the art instrumentation, automation, programming guidance, control logic and software programming related to devices such as PLCs are critical. This applicant will work closely with the leadership team for designing and bringing the lab online. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower level Engineers including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organization’s policies and procedures. Teledyne is looking for a Aerodynamicist to lead a dynamic group of aerodynamicists, modeling and simulation (M&S) teammates, instrumentation, mathematicians, physicists, test engineers and requirements planners for supporting the development of an aerospace laboratory located on Redstone Arsenal. Duties include oversight for all aspects of testing once the facility is online, defining the requirements and building out the team for making this project a reality. While the Managerial Aerodynamicist will be responsible for all aspects related to the test cell, conditions delivered to the test cell and all future teammates related to testing; this position will also interface with an equal Chief Engineer counterpart. It is envisioned that the Chief Engineer’s team will ensure that all mechanical systems, controls, complex and designs meet the specifications defined by this candidate’s team. It is envisioned that the team that this position collaborates with the Chief Engineer and their respective teams for making this wind tunnel a reality. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of wind tunnel design, subject matter expertise in test cell design, recognition of their experience at the national level and can successfully build the appropriate team skills required for defining and maintaining the operational readiness of the tunnel.
As a mixed-signal circuit design engineer the engineer will be responsible for the following. Own complex circuit blocks that are part of Read Out Integrated Circuits (ROIC), which include high performance ADC’s, multi-gigabit serializers, switched capacitor circuits, and low noise amplifiers. As part of the ownership, the engineer will translate ROIC specifications into design solutions for the specific application, demonstrate requirements are met through design and analysis, deliver circuit design and layout, commit to and meet project schedules. The engineer is expected to work as part of a design team sometimes as a team lead and at other times as team member. General duties will include performing circuit design, circuit simulation, physical design, layout extraction, circuit verification, preparation for and conduct design reviews. Required Skills/Experience: - Strong technical background in electrical engineering with experience in CMOS integrated circuits- Possess expert knowledge with CMOS design tools such as Virtuoso, Spectre, SpectreRF, Assura and Calibre- Demonstrated prior CMOS design experience that lead to successful tape-outs and products- Take full ownership of complex circuit blocks from requirements definition to physical design- Have experience with correlated double sampling- Experience with switched capacitor circuits- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions- Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of Assembly, Production & R & D Testing, and Inspection operations involving the use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments and electronic instrumentation. Surface Preparation, Metal Finishing, Material Handling, Packaging and General Labor duties are also required. Non-Destructive Testing inspection personnel will require certification to Level II status in the Fluorescent Penetrant methods per NAS 410. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Assembles, disassembles, and reassembles engines and/or sub-assemblies as required. Makes necessary modifications and/or repairs in order to meet the requirements for operation or support of operation.- Starts and operates engine during testing according to ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure). Runs engine tests as required. Preserves and moves engine in and out of test cell.- Sets up and operates dynamic and static balancing machines. Attaches permanent weights and/or removes the proper amount of metal from work-piece by prescribed means, but not limited to this or other techniques that may be required to achieve a properly balanced part.- Complete a process, sub-assembly, and/or assembly timely and accurately and record activity in CAPPS as completed.- Evaluate operator-generated documentation of in-process or final manufacturing/assembly operations for completeness, accuracy and compliance to company instructions.- Must be able to read blueprints and schematics as well as be key board literate. Must be experienced in the proper use of hand tools, air tools and power tools.- Mechanical inspection of complex machined parts, castings and Assemblies and evaluation of conformance to drawings or other guidelines in accordance with established sampling plans or SPC guidelines.- Identification and documentation of non-conforming hardware conditions including specific details and extent of non-conformance.- Apply identification markings to hardware according to company guidelines and procedures and complete company inspection documentation/records.- Knowledgeable of standard Safety, Environmental and Health practices relating to the various operations performed in the Production Cell or Facility Test area. Ensures the quality, reliability and validity of Teledyne’s processes, procedures and Quality Management systems for Teledyne’s Quality Assurance department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
