    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls is seeking a Field Support Engineer to support the Oceania region.  The Field Support Engineer will serve as the focal in providing troubleshooting support by addressing and resolving issues with hardware and software company products.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties maybe assigned as well.

    • Assist in technical support relationship to drive customer satisfaction by proactively resolving software technical issues for customers both onsite, online and via telephone.
    • Support Sales engagement activities (i.e. Technical Sales presentation) with customers primarily in the region of Australia, New Zealand, Oceania and possibility Asia Pacific as needed.
    • Work with customers to gather feedback on product improvement/evolution that can lead to new business opportunities.
    • Provide analysis data through Tableau, Excel, Power Pivot, and other reporting tools.
    • Resolve challenging, potentially high impact customer situations with a high level of tact and understanding.
    • Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under minimum supervision to support deployment, integration and maintenance of Controls’ software products within clients’ networking environments.
    • Will provide case resolution, software/network troubleshooting and proactive support services.
    • Own a diverse and complex scope of support issues directly related to the use, support, and implementation of Controls’ products and solutions, with effective customer skills required on-site, over the phone, and online to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by understanding and identifying the customers’ complex environment.
    • Effectively interact with the engineering teams to provide solutions to complex technical issues.
    • Share best practices with fellow team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of the support process.
    • Travel to Customer sites, industry conferences as necessary.
    • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.


    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aeronautical or other related Engineering discipline; Advanced Degree is a plus.
    • At least a minimum of three (3) years of experience with custom software applications and/or hardware engineering development experience for commercial aircraft in Management, Engineering, or Support role.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in software, electronics, mechanics, and/or circuit design in an Avionics or Aerospace Defence environment.
    • Experience of Flight Data Monitoring operation and software preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office application tools. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables).
    • Experience working with SQL databases software highly preferred.
    • Solid understanding of Tableau strongly preferred.
    • Knowledgeable experience in C++, web applications, HTML JQuery, CSS is a plus.
    • Knowledgeable experience in Windows operating systems: Windows 7/Windows 10 and Server: Windows 2008 R2/Windows 2012 R2 preferred.
    • Experience/ knowledge with the repair of avionic equipment preferred.
    • Experience/ knowledge of avionic equipment including Teledyne hardware & software products preferred.
    • Experience/ knowledge of Flight Data Monitoring operation and software preferred.
    • This position requires 25% domestic and international travel.
