The selected engineer will perform, and/or supervise the performance of mechanical design, engineering, testing and maintenance efforts including preparation of test plans and reports and data collection. This position will support one or more engineering projects performing design engineering and integration DOD, DOE, commercial nuclear, and commercial industrial process programs.
Responsibilities may include, development of P&IDs, and design of and selection of mechanical parts and assemblies, equipment, components and materials, 3D CAD modeling, design analysis and calculations, checking and verification, collaborating and interfacing with other functional areas including Manufacturing, QA, procurement, production, and configuration management . Perform design and specification of gloveboxes, pressure and vacuum systems, process piping, complex assemblies etc.
Degreed Mechanical or Chemical Engineer and 10+ years’ experience in capital projects working as a mechanical systems design engineer in DOD, DOE, commercial nuclear power, and industrial process plants. P.E. Registration preferred, but not essential.
Proficient in completing the design of complex Process and mechanical Systems; pump and piping systems, BOM's, P&ID's, design/modification of process and mechanical equipment, completing hydraulic and pressure calculations.
Detailed experience in completing engineering specifications and designs, procurement of materials/equipment, quality control, construction, integrity testing.Training or familiarity with modeling using any industry-standard 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks required.Manufacturing experience and capability to interface with Manufacturing and procurement is essential. Background in NQA-1 and working knowledge of and ASME /ANSI codes required.
