    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls’ has an exciting opportunity as a Design Quality Assurance Manager in our Quality Group located in El Segundo, CA. The DQA Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the DQA engineering team by ensuring that hardware or software product developments are conducted in a systematic manner, fulfilling the contractual requirements, conforming to specified customer quality requirements; and complying with established industry standards, regulatory provisions and guidelines, and Teledyne Controls design standards and practices, development processes and procedures, special work instructions, and guidelines.


    Key Functions

    • Manage, implement, and maintain the Design Quality Assurance processes and Design Quality Assurance Manual (DQAM)
    • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) & Airline Customers Contract Review: Perform contract review for quality on new proposals
    • Ensure compliance with OEM and Airline Customers imposed contract provisions – Quality Management System (QMS)Policies/ Processes/ development requirements
    • Overview product change management submission / approval process for compliance with OEM requirements (EDES, NOC, etc.)
    • Support System, Hardware, and Software design development reviews
    • Support development programs formal customer reviews such as: Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and Functional and Physical Audits (FCA/PCAs)
    • Create Software Quality Control Plans and Hardware Quality Control Plans – for customer submission and approval
    • Support coordination and liaison with Customers for development programs quality related issues and concerns
    • Support Stage of Involvement (SOI) and First Article Inspection (FAIs) reviews and audits
    • Review and approve Engineering documentation, design changes (EOs) and development folders
    • Participate in design & development reviews process covering: Planning, Requirements, Design, Validation and Verifications
    • Support Design related root cause and corrective action investigations
    • Support ETP/System Test monitoring, Test Set-up Conformity, and review Test Reports and failure investigations reports
    • Support Qualification test monitoring, Test Set-up Conformity, and review Qualification Test Reports and failure investigations reports
    • Provide input and overview to support program implementation from a quality perspective, and attend internal program reviews / status meetings
    • Provide feedback regarding design change implementation, need for Service Bulletins, and service letters

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; at least a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years' of work experience in quality management, quality engineering or related engineering, manufacturing processes, or supply chain disciplines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Projects, Visio and other database software.
    • Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 Standards

    Preferred

    • ASQ Certificate in Quality Leadership, Quality Audit, Quality Engineering or Six Sigma
    • OEM Processes such as Airbuss GRESS & ABD0100 working knowledge
    • DO-178 & DO-254 product life cycle processes knowledge
    • Recent IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-600, and J-STD-001
