    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls’ has an exciting opportunity as a Reliability Engineer in our Reliability Engineering Department located in El Segundo, CA. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for analyzing new development equipment for Reliability and Maintainability attributes and completing the associated documentation.  


    Key Functions

    • Analyze new products and prepare required data item documentation such as Reliability Predictions, Failure Mode and Effects (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analyses.
    • Use assembly drawings, schematics, and design documentation to troubleshoot and recommend test improvements
    • Provide Safety Hazard Analyses
    • Plan, Conduct, and prepare reports on Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) for new or modified products.
    • Document Failed Part Conditions and Coordinated Failure Analysis with Vendors
    • Track Field Performance of products for MTBUR and MTBF determination
    • Investigate Field Return Products for root cause of failures and provide corrective action recommendations
    • Prepare Internal and External Corrective Action Responses for returned products
    • Ability to prepare presentations, document action plans, and work to project conclusion for internal and external customer failure trends
    • Collect Failed Devices and interface with Device Distributors and Manufactures for Failed Part Trend Investigations and resolution
    • Prepare Stress Screening Procedures for unit testing
    • Participate in Material Review Board investigations and dispositions.
    • Support Factory process flow improvements by investigating production failure trends for root cause
    • Review part level documentation to assess intended part function and probably part level failure modes
    • Interface with internal departments to determine failure severity and production impact
    • Propose corrective actions and monitor for resolution and implementation in a timely manner in support of internal and external customers

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Science, Technology or an Engineering disciplines with a focus on digital Electronic theory and practical implementation; Minimum of five years' related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Advanced ability in operating a PC computer and in the use of Microsoft Office application: Word, PowerPoint, advanced Access working knowledge, and an expert in Excel.
    • Must be able to write Root Cause Analysis reports using data and conclusions from multiple disciplines.
    • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to assess data for validity and correctness prior to presentation to internal or external customers
    • Must be able to work with a wide range of departments to assurance timely and adequate response to data queries
