    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls’ has an exciting opportunity as a Reliability Data Analyst in our Reliability Engineering Department located in El Segundo, CA. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for Data Extraction, Analysis, and Trending od Production and Field Failure Returns with Chart Preparation for all levels of Management Review.


    Key Functions

    • Lead the Reliability Data Analysis Group in the extraction of Production and Repair Data, performs Data Analyses, and create reports with actionable information 
    • Strong Microsoft ACCESS skill set for data extract and analysis
    • Strong Microsoft EXCEL skill set for data analyses, Pivot Table review, and graphical output
    • Demonstrated Reliability Statistical Analysis with successful investigation and resolution  
    • Extract Key Performance data from Company Data bases and prepare Monthly Quality and Reliability Review Reports
    • Examine data using Pareto Analysis, identify negative performance trends and track action items to resolution
    • Improve Reliability Field Return data ERP extraction (Mapics XA) & Pareto tools
    • Monitor and Expand the Production End Items to the Monthly Reliability Review reports
    • Setup and maintain major Customer Return Data and plot Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals 
    • MTBUR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) data to assure adherence to contractual requirements
    • Prepare Quality Inspection, KPI, and Root Cause Analysis Reports and monitor for negative trend data and track for resolution
    • Prepare Quality Assurance Top Management Review Package and track for action item closure
    • Improve FRACAS (MS Access) Data Base Entry format and data extraction. 
    • Develop a transition to a proactive data extraction and analysis tool for Production Failure Trends
    • Provide closer coordination with Production on weekly, monthly, and quarterly failure trends
    • Prepare Production Yield Query formats suitable across all TDY departments
    • Research and Prepare Ad hoc Reports on Production and Field Return Data 
    • Create Customer Reason for Return database from Repair Station Mapics ERP Data to correlate Customer complaints and Repair actions 

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering disciplines or statistics preferred; at least five to seven years’ of experience in a reliability engineering disciplines or statistics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Advanced ability in operating a PC computer and in the use of Microsoft Office application: Word, PowerPoint, advanced Access working knowledge, and an expert in Excel.
    • Must be able to write Root Cause Analysis reports using data and conclusions from multiple disciplines.
    • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to assess data for validity and correctness prior to presentation to internal or external customers
    • Must be able to work with a wide range of departments to assurance timely and adequate response to data queries

    Preferred

    • Experience in Mapics and Pareto tools
    • Six Sigma or similar industry process variation reduction implementation certification
