The Engineer of Quality II examines, evaluates and/or determines present and potential system and subsystem requirements including Nonconformances, Corrective Actions and process improvement efforts.
This includes review of complex drawings and models and related program quality requirements to work with Manufacturing Engineering and Customer representatives to assure all requirements are met.
Review and approval of shop travelers (build paper). Establishment of Mandatory Inspection Points. Development of complex inspection documentation utilized for product acceptance. Understanding of customer flow down requirements. Review of program related quality requirements (including approvals) during proposals and contract kick-off activities. Assists Manufacturing Engineering to establish the personnel, equipment, and facility resources necessary for performance of the contract requirements. Evaluates and makes recommendations on specific system designs in terms of operational suitability and effectiveness in fulfilling customer or contract requirements. Administers technical plans, procedures and policies for assigned organization. Formulates, establishes, and implements analytical techniques for determining corrective actions and process improvements including flow down to the shop floor and follow-up for effectiveness. Hands on activities with the shop to promote continual improvement. A strong working background in ISO AS9100.
Develops and maintains a good working relationship with customers QA leads and on-site inspectors. Will be required to act as POC for government source inspection.
BS in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Quality Engineering experience with manufacturing complex hardware strongly preferred. Ability to read/understand complex design and manufacturing engineering drawings and models and related program quality requirements. AS9100C/ISO QMS experience required. Experience with complex red-lined programs a plus. Strong customer interaction skills required. Hands-on on manufacturing operational experience a plus (inspection, fabrication, welding, assembly, etc.) Experience with Government/Military QA a plus.
