Microgravity Sciences Glovebox (MSG) Facility Operator is a Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) flight control position that manages the MSG Rack that is located onboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The MSG Facility Operator interfaces with the Payload Investigation Leads prior to and during real-time execution. They requires knowledge of command and telemetry systems and are responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the MSG Rack. The position is also responsible for configuring, monitoring and managing MSG Rack operations during real-time operations which may require some shift work.
Requires approximately twelve years concentrated technical experience, or the equivalent in combined education and experience, including at least four years in responsible positions involving analysis, design, development, or test. However, assignments are primarily made on the basis of demonstrated technical and leadership ability.
