    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    This position reports to the Operations management and it could be based in City of Industry, CA or Englewood, CO. 


    The chosen candidate will:

    • Be a strong negotiator, able to identify cost savings through vendor cost reduction and consolidation
    • Provides daily leadership and supervision to procurement and planning at our City of Industry, CA and Englewood, CO factories. 
    • Be responsible for ensuring continued flow of materials and supplies using min/max, build to forecast and build to order principles.
    • Ensures that buyers and planners are following best business practices and that the supply chain organization is compliant with all Company policies.
    • Develops action plans and task assignments to improve supplier responsiveness, performance and cost savings. 
    • Performs hands-on purchasing and supply chain tasks and acts as a backup to direct reports, as needed.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Establish goals and conduct performance reviews of his/her subordinates
    • Supervise and collaborate with buyers and planners on goal achievement
    • Monitor material flow through receiving and MRB
    • Approve PO's for release per established signature authorization matrix
    • Travel estimated at 25-50%, or as required.  Travel requirements include meeting with key suppliers to establish and enhance value-chain strategies.
    • Provide project management guidance and support
    • Participate in MRB meetings
    • Resolve A/P invoice problems needing procurement assistance
    • Collaborate across departments to identify new or alternate vendors as needed
    • Ensure supplier performance (quality, on time delivery, etc.)
    • Review and approve purchasing contracts favorable to the Company
    • Keep abreast of market dynamics and changes in business practices
    • Understand material impacts due to ECO dispositions
    • Responsible for meeting Company procurement metrics and targets
    • Maintain raw material data within MRP system for accuracy of pricing, specifications and lead-time
    • Draft and/or update applicable procedures, ensuring Company compliance
    • Ensure availability of materials in the supply chain, as required per production demand and forecast
    • Maintains inventory at acceptable levels while minimizing E&O inventory
    • Other duties as assigned

    Citizenship Requirements

    Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "U.S. Person" (US citizens, US nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).



    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of supply chain improvements
    • Requires at least two years of supervisory/management experience
    • APICS or similar purchasing certification is a plus
    • Experience in high pace manufacturing environment
    • Excellent team communication, human relations, and organizational skills
    • Excellent time management, written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to rapidly learn new systems and procedures
    • ERP experience in a supply chain role; Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a plus
    • Strong negotiating skills
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to consolidate and present complex data related to supply chain activities to identify current procurement issues and to guide future procurement decisions
    • Ability to convert sales forecasts into procurement strategies and inventory level projections
    • Experience remotely supervising personal a plus

    Physical and Mental Abilities

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, stand for extended periods, use ladders  
    • Must be able to lift more than 70 lbs. and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl comfortably using various hand tools, in awkward positions
    • Requires clear vision and ability to identify and distinguish colors
