    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Overview:

    This position is responsible for the materials planning, storage, production control and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.  Position will oversee Planning, Production Control, Stockroom.


     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and drive all Planning and Production Control activities to assure customer expectations are met.
    • Mentors and develops direct reports. Listens, supports, engages and encourages employee suggestions and input to achieve excellent results.
    • Establishes goals, sets priorities and coordinates all related activities within the Planning and Production Control Group to ensure drive and focus towards meeting or exceeding established common business objectives.
    • Develop, implement and enhance daily tracking tools in coordination with other functional area leaders.
    • Monitors, reviews, and improves Planning activities and drives corrective and preventative actions. Focuses team on using standardized work practices.
    • Oversees and manages team expenses to meet budgets and financial objectives and proactively seeks opportunities to drive improvement of the operating results.
    • Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, scheduling and organizing work assignments within the company policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for staff training within the Planning and Production Control department.  Identify needs, coach and coordinate internal or external training activities.
    • Performs other duties and cross training as assigned.


    Education and Experience:

    • BA/BS degree in related field, relevant work experience will be considered
    • CPIM certification preferred
    • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Production Planning and Procurement
    • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques
    • Possess technical engineering aptitude to understand advanced level of product line knowledge.
    • 3+ years working experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
    • Possess a continuous process improvement mindset with the ability to effectively lead and manage change.


    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to work with changing demands in a fast paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization
    • Knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ERP Software
    • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks
    • Necessary to be a team player with the ability to work effectively with other departments on special projects as assigned
