    Position Summary and Responsibilities


    Promotes the sale of Teledyne Cable Solutions products by visiting current and potential customers, presenting our capabilities & services, seeking new applications, enhancing relationships with current and new contacts and fostering good will.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Collaborate on customers: Identify, initiate and build relationships with important accounts to grow business base. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
        • Assist in the evaluation and pursuit of key accounts sharing tactics and agreeing on sales strategy.
        • Develop new leads: (after completing priority duties and tasks, use industry and customer experience to uncover new potential customers within similar market segments or where you feel opportunities for the company might exist.)
        • Continually seek to uncover new applications with new and existing contacts.
        • Continually seek to identify new contacts within new/ existing companies.
    • To the best of ability, provide technical product support
      • Using customer contact experience, assist in new applications proposal generation and provide contract review input
      • Look for and communicate possible product development opportunities that may be uncovered while visiting customers.
      • Identify and report significant trends especially where you are supporting multiple accounts within the same market segment.
    • Sales support duties and typical specific activities in support of all inside sales persons, shall include:
      • Pick up prints and samples pursuant to generating quotations
      • Drop off quotes and sales samples or first article prototypes
      • Perform physical follow-up visits to close an order or renew interest.
      • With input from inside account manager and others:
        • Formulate specific customer visit strategy that promotes an immediate return or satisfies a specific short term goal
      • Makes periodic customer visits and communicates via e-mail and phone to promote our strategic long-term relationship building agenda.


    • Actively participate in research activities.
      • As required, prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales within assigned geographic territory.
      • Represents Company at trade association meetings to promote product.
      • Assist in market development research by performing rudimentary or refined internet research in collaboration with inside sales persons or management.



    Extensive travel in these territories: - The primary role of outside sales will require extensive travel in throughout the U.S and Canada. Periodic travel to other counties is possible (U.K., Europe, etc…). Potential travel could consist of 2-3 weeks on the road.


    This position will be located in the Dallas TX area.


    Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use of hands, climb, stoop, bend, push/pull, vision (color, close)


    Required Outputs:

    • Comprehensive trip reports including specific account information, trends and future needs.
    • Utilize and maintain a comprehensive customer contact data log rich in pertinent information with the intent to enable marketing & management to identify & start contact customers regarding specific product interests, market segmentation, performance requirements, potential product needs etc…
      • If Salesforce or some other customer contact management tool is not required or specified, use whatever tool best enables you to carry out this task.
    • Accumulate tactically important information regarding price trends, unrealized technical and performance requirements,
    • Compose and submit detailed expense reports.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive written activity and data collection reports as required to support research activities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Applicant must have three to five years previous sales experience or equivalent. A four year degree is preferred, but not required. Experienced in PC software such as Excel, Word and Outlook. Be able to rapidly learn and acquire skills in the use of a customer account management software tool such as ACT. High School Diploma or equivelant required.



    Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
