    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Responsible for a small team of quality control inspectors and material handlers.

    Supply feedback to management, supervisors and employees on total quality improvements.

    As needed willing to obtain trainer certification and carry out in-house training for:

      • ESD Control
      • IPC-A-610
      • IPC-7711/IPC-7721
      • IPC/WHMA-A-620
      • J-STD-001
    • Travel as required to audit vendor facilities and support customer programs.
    • Interface with database designer to implement improvements to quality database system.
    • Supply reports: vendor quality, in-house operator quality, RMA history, customer complaints, etc. to appropriate staff.
    • Supply feedback to the design team through engineering change requests as required of corrective and/or preventive actions and cost reduction resulting from unnecessarily tight tolerances on hardware or processes.
    • Chair material review board for dispositions of non-conforming materials.
    • Head team to implement and obtain ISO 9001 compliance.
    • As requested and required, dealing with Customer representatives on behalf of the Quality department in a competent and professional demeanor
    • Follow all established Business Management Procedures and make recommendations to improve processes.
    • Oversee proper packaging of outgoing products for international transit. Assist with design of packing as needed.
    • Works under minimum direction, may perform other work as assigned by other managers, and take on additional responsibilities in the continual growth of the position.

    Citizenship Requirements

    Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "U.S. Person" (US citizens, US nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

    Qualifications

    Must have previous technical working expertise within the Electronics industry, preferably 5+ years for an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or with a contract manufacturer (CM), which would provide working knowledge and familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes and specialized techniques in handling electronic components and other miscellaneous raw materials, including analytical capability to diagnose and correct production problems

    EDUCATION / COMPETANCE

    • Electronic Engineering Technician or equivalent technical degree (5+ years of broad technical experience in electronics)
    • Ability to read, understand and explain technical product documentation: Product Specifications, Bill of Materials, Assembly Instructions and Illustrations, Schematics, Gerber/Layout Files.
    • Strong aptitude for visualizing and reading mechanical prints for milled as well as sheet metal components
    • Experience working within an ISO9001:2000 environment, and preferably training on internal process auditing, and statistical analysis
    • Strong English communication skills, both verbally and written
    • Complete understanding of applicable workmanship, quality and other industry standards, such as: IPC, ISO, WHMIS, RoHS, etc.
