    TELEDYNE RELAYS is currently seeking to add a dependable PURCHASING ASSISTANT to its team.

    Position Summary and Responsibilities



    • Provides administrative and clerical support specifically related to purchasing department activities, managers or staff.
    • Maintains files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation
    • Maintains information on computer systems
    • Assists in expediting orders
    • May assist buyers in contacting vendors to obtain prices and schedule delivery dates
    • May develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items.
    • Prepares standard requests for quotation
    • Assignments may require initiative regarding pricing revisions, order cancellations discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies
    • Other duties as assigned



      • A High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
      • Minimum 1-2 years of previous stockroom, production control or material experience required.
      • The candidate must be detailed oriented, well organized, able to write legibly and read English.
      • Candidate must have computer knowledge; proficiency in Microsoft Office required and must have the ability to use MRP software (knowledge of Mapics/ERP is highly desirable).
      • Must be able to understand different material measuring systems such as weight, length, volume, each along with an understanding of fractions and decimals.
      • Ability to learn, understand, and follow Company policies and procedures.
      • Able to communicate with all levels of personnel
      • Must be able to lift heavy items, such as boxes, etc. (25 lbs. maximum)
      • Physical Demands: Candidates will frequently sit and stand and walk, will use hands to handle or feel and carry items, reach with hands and arms.  Candidate will frequently need to hear or listen or talk to ask questions or provide feedback
      • Work environment: Will work around quiet conditions, meter machines and packaging areas
    • Candidate must be a U.S. Person
