    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Purpose

    As a process technician you will be hands-on sustaining activities in backend processing for hybridization, backfilling, and assembly processes for sensor chip assemblies.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supports hybridization (flip chip), backfilling (underfill) and assembly processes including precision alignment and verifying Flight Hardware
    • Performs inspection of sensor chip assemblies; verifies critical dimensions
    • Promptly documents an reports any damages that may occur from SCA assembly performed
    • Supports efforts to identify and correct root cause of damage
    • Works safely at all times and promptly reports anything found unsafe in cleanroom
    • Inspects work in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and follows detailed work instructions and drawings
    • Performs epoxy applications with Precision Alignment Mounting of Focal Plane Arrays (FPA) onto packages
    • Operates multiple microscopes to inspect Focal Plane Arrays
    • Supports management with training and quality assurance when needed
    • Evaluates parts in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements and prepares documentation as required
    • Recommends process improvements or changes as required for new designs and product optimization
    • Observe ESD and safety practices and cleanroom practices
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Able to work flex schedule and overtime as needed

    Citizenship Requirements

    Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.


    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma with three (3) to five (5) years of experience or Associate’s Degree in a related field with zero (0) to two (2) years of experience
    • Hands-on experience with handling and manipulation of small parts with tweezers


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Reading, writing, basic math and basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
    • Ability to perform assembly tasks using a microscope
    • Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and precision alignment mounting
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Manual dexterity for the use of hand tools
    • Attention to detail and ability to accurately follow procedures and diagrams
    • Skills and ability to operate complicated equipment such as Auto-Epoxy dispense systems, measuring systems, optical inspection systems, etc.
