    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Oversees the Electrical Engineering team and is responsible for developing hardware, firmware and software for TIS products. Electronics engineering team is responsible for development of camera and sensor hardware electronics, associated firmware, and software for our infrared sensors. The hardware is utilized in a variety of different applications for both external customers as well as internal customers.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Designs, implements and documents hardware and firmware used in camera electronics and data acquisition systems
    • Designs, implements and documents PC and microcontroller-based software modules for image acquisition, image analysis and instrument communication in close collaboration with the Engineering staff
    • Provides technical and application support to TIS customers
    • Prepares documentation for hardware, firmware and software
    • Works with Quality Assurance documents compliant to AS9100 standards
    • Provides inputs for program bids as required

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities    

    • Owns all activities within the responsibility of the electrical engineering team
    • Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms and behaviors
    • Maintains and improves design engineering processes within the electronics engineering group
    • Responsible for hiring, employee motivation, development, mentoring, counseling, discipline and performance reviews
    • Assists in the development and administration of department’s overall budget
    • Monitors projects to ensure completion on schedule and within budget

    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Competencies

     

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

     

    • Prior management experience
    • Makes and meets commitments
    • Expertise in programming PLDs and FPGAs using Verilog and/or VHDL
    • Expertise in hardware design using FPGA’s
    • Knowledge in the following areas:
    • PC programming and data analysis environments: C#, VB, C++, IDL, Labview
    • PC hardware integration, including DLLs for frame-grabbers, IEEE-488, USB and serial communication ports
    • Numerical data analysis algorithms and techniques for computing statistics
    • Image visualization methods and graphical display of data
    • Familiarity with ISO9001 requirements
    • Advanced computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

     

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • Master’s Degree with twenty (20) years of experience
