    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) is hiring a Payload Operations Engineer/Analyst to perform multiple functions and responsibilities in support of the Multiple User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES) project.


    MUSES is a TBE developed, built, and operated externally mounted International Space Station (ISS) based Earth pointing platform to support interchangeable Hosted Payloads requiring Earth pointing or being exposed to the space environment.


    The Payload Operations Engineer/Analyst will perform functions that include, but are not limited to:

    1. Payload Commanding and Health & Status Monitoring
    2. Payload Science Data Management
    3. Earth Point Target Planning
    4. Procedure, Planning, and Training Product Development/Maintenance

    Other Position Responsibilities:


    The Payload Operations Engineer/Analyst will be required to communicate and coordinate with NASA Payload Operations and Integration Center (POIC) positions in support of all aspects related to MUSES and Hosted Payload operations. 


    Additionally, communication and coordination with existing and prospective Hosted Payload teams will be required, which could include U.S. or foreign-based teams.


    Take leadership and responsibility of various task completion and implementation to support the MUSES project.

    Citizenship Requirements

    Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.


    Education and Experience: 

    • Requires a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Management, or related field.
    • 10+ years real-time operations experience
    • Experience with ISS operations, procedures, processes and nomenclature.
    • Military experience is a plus


    Other Requirements:

    • The position may require travel.
    • Must be willing to perform ‘shift’ work and work off-nominal hours if required.
    • Must be able perform tasks individually as well as part of a team.
    • Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
    • Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability and desire to learn new skills.
