    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Requirement Analysis and System Design
    Analyzes complex mathematical equations arising in engineering and scientific problems.  Assists in obtaining general solutions by analytical and numerical techniques.  Analyzes the requirements for complex data systems. Prepares general and detailed system and program flow charts and uses these to experiment with the various approaches to mechanization, determine machine requirements, and select the best programming language to obtain required solutions.

     

    System Development and Testing
    Designs, codes, tests, implements, maintains, and documents industrial automation, data acquisition and information management applications.  Develops library subroutines for widely used calculation or data manipulations.  Develops and participates in tests to validate algorithms and programs against established criteria. 

     

    Documentation, Training and Customer Support
    Develops and updates software design documentation, test plans and procedures, and operating user manuals and instructions.  Provides support to end users of developed or purchased applications.  Keeps abreast of developments in appropriate computer hardware and software in applicable industry best practices and technologies, including database design, software development methodologies, and architectural design patterns.  Maintains an expert knowledge of appropriate major data processing tools and techniques.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, plus approximately two years professional experience in computer programming and/or computer systems analysis in a team environment. 

     

    Required Skills:

    • Visual Studio .NET (Visual Basic, C#)
    • SQL Server Database Programming
    • Visual Basic 6.0 (Visual Basic for Applications)
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience interfacing with hardware components

    • LabVIEW
    • C++
    • OPTO22 PAC Project development
    • iX Developer programming
    • Qlarity programming
    • PLC (Programmable logic controller) programming
