    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Storm Microwave, a leading manufacturer of R/F Microwave cable assemblies, is searching for a Production Supervisor for our Woodridge, IL facility.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Directing staffing, training & performance of department to achieve quality goals and support production schedules in a safe, well-maintained workplace.
    • Coordinating manufacturing activities with Production Planner, Materials, Engineering, Sales and Quality functions to:
      • Minimize manufacturing costs and optimize workflow (direct labor hours, WIP levels, attrition rates and build cycle time).
      • Adjust manpower utilization as needed to support long term & abrupt changes to production plans in response to materials shortages, equipment availability and customer service requirements.
      • Identify/prioritize areas needing improvement on the shop floor and develop/implement changes on processes. Responsible for providing new or remedial training to personnel on new and critical processes and equipment use.
      • Develop/implement corrective actions related to manufacturing activities.
      • Develop/implement recovery plans when shipment schedules are compromised.
      • Maintain On-Time Delivery by applying resources where needed and coordinating efforts from other departments if needed
    • Sharing accumulated knowledge to optimize manufacturing operations, including:
      • Providing input to regarding factory documentation: engineering drawings, work instructions and routing.
      • Providing input to Engineering in tool/fixture designs.
      • Contribute to MRB of non-conforming materials.
      • Provide estimates of labor times and process capability on new products.
      • Instruct production personnel on methods of gathering and recording statistical data to support engineering and quality measure of performance, effectiveness of process changes, cycle time, throughput, etc. Ensure data is taken consistently and recorded as instructed.
    • Developing short, medium and long-term goals for department improvements. Developing plans to support goals.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • BA or BS Degree in associated field is preferred
    • Must have 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing enviroment.
    • Must be familiar with production measures such as On-Time delivery, labor rates, and Quality audits.
    • Must be familiar with various measuring equipment: caliper, micrometer, height scale, gage pin sets and ruler etc.
    • Must have general computer knowledge including Excel, Word, and MRPII
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
