    Position Summary and Responsibilities

     

    • Responsible for the assembly of Engineered System's projects to include modification and changes during assembly phases.
    • Inform Supervisor on all aspects of current assembly projects to ensure compliance with specification, project completion dates, suggest modifications, advise of parts delays, requirements, or needed requisitions.
    • Modify blueprints and drawings to as-builts (redlines) and submit to Systems Assembly Supervisor for approval.
    • Act as lead to other assemblers when required.
    • Coordinate and maintain parts storage for Systems projects, maintaining principle accountability for all issued items.
    • Recommend improved tooling methods, work methods, and documentation methods to ensure a smooth working process that results in professional, high quality products.
    • Serve as mentor and trainer to less experienced/knowledgeable assemblers as assigned, attached or detailed to Engineered Systems Assembly team.
    • Able to travel out of town for occasional field service maintenance start-up or repairs of Engineered Systems projects.
    • Able to work overtime when conditions require and occationally travel.

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree (AA/AS) or equivalent experience or Military technical training.
    • Two to Five years of practical assembly, wiring, troubleshooting measurement controls and related instrument and devices, to include pneumatic tubing, gauges, valves, timers, relays and controllers. Must be able to understand both digital and analogue logic and devices.  Must be familiar with basic machining and calibration techniques in order logically to assemble.
    • Should have some electronic skills, including soldering and other wiring techniques. Strain gage installation and operation experience preferred.
    • Knowledgeable in the use of general-purpose lab and test equipment. Some working knowledge of production prints and schematics, electrical components, troubleshooting techniques and problem solving ability.
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and computer literacy are necessary
    • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
    • Ability to work as a team player under adverse conditions and severe time constraints.
    • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with or without supervision. Willing to work with air/gas pressures to 150 p.s.i. and with electricity from 15 VDC to 240 VAC.  Able to read and interpret formal blueprints and drawings.
    • Cable and wire harness buildup and preparation for various products. 
    • Excellent manual dexterity.
    • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.

    Physical and Mental Abilities

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, stand for extended periods, use ladders.  
    • Must be able to lift more than 70 lbs. and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl comfortably using various hand tools, in awkward positions.
    • Requires clear vision and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
    • Employee must be able to work around moving mechanical parts in a moderate weather and humidity, work in high precarious places and around fumes or airborne particles with exposure to loud noises, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
