The microwave technician will be responsible for the tuning, troubleshooting, and final testing of microwave components and subsystems. Most of the components operate in the 500 MHz to 26 GHz frequency range. Candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of direct related experience of working on microwave products in an engineering environment. A strong knowledge of microwave test equipment like network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, and digital scopes is required. Requires working with a microscope using special handmade tools and probes. Must be proficient with ball bonders and gap welders. Good hand and eye coordination is important. Technician must have good communication skills and be able to follow written processes and procedures.
Other responsibilities include supporting the production line in resolving tuning and test issues, including troubleshooting and process related problems. Well versed in workmanship, quality standards and Mil-STD specifications. Verbal and written skills are a strong attribute for this level.
AA degree in electronics or equivalent desired. Familiar with all levels of documentation used to support the products in an engineering environment. Should have the knowledge to generate and submit engineering change notices with minimal supervision. Should have experience with testing and evaluation of engineering hardware in a laboratory environment. Must have the ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects to completion simultaneously. Technician should be capable of reading and interpreting schematic and block diagrams for the components they are working on. US citizen and able to attain Security Clearance.
