    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    The Quality Engineer will report the LVSA Quality Manager, and will support Space Systems, specifically the Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter (LVSA) project.


    The Quality Engineer will work with the LVSA Quality Manager to evaluate and approve manufacturing route sheets, review material receiving non-conformances, develop non-conformance paperwork for manufacturing and vendor activities, participate in vendor Quality audits and source inspections, prepare presentations for Material Review Boards, develop inspection reports, and participate in hardware manufacturing and assembly activities as needed. Occasional travel to NASA or vendor facilities will be required.




    Requires at least four (4) years at a recognized level of competence in a related technical field or the equivalent education and experience.  Must be recognized as a specialist in a technical area by competent professional associates and have demonstrated technical leadership capability.


    Desired Candidate:

    • BS Degree in an engineering/technical discipline
    • 10 yrs experience developing Space Flight or military hardware
    • Experience working to AS9100 requirements
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Experience working in machine shop environment
    • Experience with integration of space-flight hardware
    • Hands-on experience producing large space-flight hardware and systems
    • Participation in NASA MSFC MRB Boards
    • Familiarity with SLS and LVSA hardware
    • Experience working with vendors who support NASA
    • Experience working with SLS Primes
