    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Exhibits a strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with metal machining operations involving drill   press, arbor press, band saw, milling machine.

    Adequate computer skills to enable use of in-house production drawings.

    Able to read and properly interpret production drawings and carry out consistent mechanical assembly to these documents.

    Adequate communication skills to enable submission of documentation change requests for production corrections and enhancements.

    Mechanical assembly tasks include:  mechanical assembly box build, simple machining for modifications, cable harness assembly.

    Through in-house training will need to attain soldering skills compliant to IPC-A-610E Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.

    Through in-house training will need to attain competency to IPC-WHMA-A-620A Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.

    Will be required to practice proper handling of product by implementation of JESD625-A Requirements for Handling Electrostatic-Discharge-Sensitive (ESDS) devices.

    Required to comply to all quality practices and verbal instructions issued by supervisors to efficiently produce a consistently manufactured and reliable end-product.




    Prefer direct experience with any of the following:  mechanical assembly, soldering of electronic components, cable harness manufacturing, coax cable manufacturing, or metal machining operations.

    Comprehensive knowledge of electronics manufacturing terminology, tools and materials applicable to solderless crimp terminations (wire and lead preparation), mechanical fastening hardware (screws, bolts, etc., press fits), soldering (solder appearance, rejection criteria), epoxy/cement (preparation, application).

    Fundamental mathematical and measurement skills.

    Fundamental computer skills.

    Fundamental written skills.
