    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Energy Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated hands-on engineering technician to work on engineering and process development activities related to battery manufacturing. The candidate will have direct working experience in product development environment and will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Materials Development, Manufacturing and Process R&D functions of Teledyne Energy Systems.

     

    Work Description:

     

    • Perform various lab scale battery process development operations including slurry mixing, web coating, rheology measurement, slitting, welding, components manufacturing, and cell assembly
    • Design and fabricate prototype fixtures and tooling
    • Conduct experiments, collect and organize test results and discuss/report to the engineering team
    • Write and/or modify standard operating procedures
    • Work with the engineering team to suggest and implement process improvements
    • Maintain equipment and cleanliness of work place

     

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

     

    Required:

     

    • Associate degree or high school Diploma/GED with 3 years of  experience in development/manufacturing environment
    • Be a self-starter, problem-solver and schedule-driven
    • Must possess a high level of attention to details with handling materials and equipment.
    • Comfortable working in a lab setting, bringing a proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and driven results.
    • Experience using hand and power tools, as well as measurement equipment
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to read/interpret drawing and standard operating procedures
    • Proficiency with Microsoft® Office products
    • Excellent record keeping skills
    • U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access

     

    Desired:

    • Working experience in battery, fuel cell, electrochemical or analytical industry.
    • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining equipment
