    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    The Manufacturing Program Manager supporting Maritime Systems will be responsible for management of design and building and manufacturing build-to-print programs with full ownership of cost, schedule, and technical aspects.


    Other Responsibilities Include:


    • Managing programs through all phases from proposal preparation and submission, contract negotiation and definitization, program baseline and kickoff, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, qualification, validation, production and delivery as applicable.
    • Using standard practices for program schedule and cost management, and is responsible to maintain and update estimates (to complete, at completion).
    • Interfacing with the customer, leading communications related to program reviews, status reports, and visits.
    • Interfacing with support organizations (i.e. manufacturing, design, procurement, etc.) as required to coordinate program requirements.
    • Providing sales projections and other program performance criteria to business management.
    • Supporting business development opportunities.
    • Coordinating customer meetings such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and other required technical interchange meetings.


    Education and Experience:


    Requires a bachelor’s degree in a recognized field of engineering or science, plus at least ten (10)  years of professional experience or a combination of graduate study and experience, including approximately two  years in supervisory positions.


    Other Requirements:


    Candidates shall have 10 or more years of experience in program management. Experience must include: developing and maintaining program schedules; preparing and reviewing cost estimates; and coordinating activities with cross functional teams. The candidate must be familiar with DoD acquisition processes and understand the requirements of a typical contract, including: performance specifications, Statements Of Work, project milestones, and data items. The candidate shall have experience in preparing technical, management, and cost proposals. The candidate shall have experience in managing a program with manufacturing requirements and have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and steps.


    Strongly Preferred:


    A strong understanding of the U.S. Government acquisition, budgeting, and requirements processes is essential. Former acquisition experience is strongly desired. Advanced computer proficiency level using Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, MS Project and PowerPoint) is required. The candidate shall understand pricing methodologies and strategies for programs bid under different pricing methods. The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills, for interaction with technical team, and for presentation to customers. The candidate must have excellent written communication skills, for program reports and communication with customers and management. The candidate must understand the life cycle of a development program from inception through fielding and understand the resources and timeline for all phases of a program.
