    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Marine Systems is a member of a group of leading-edge undersea technology companies that have been assembled under the Teledyne Marine umbrella. We include Teledyne Benthos and Teledyne Webb Research on Cape Cod and Teledyne Gavia in Iceland.     Teledyne Marine Systems is seeking an experienced person for our Ocean Products production team at our North Falmouth facility. This position will involve assembly, test, tuning, and troubleshooting of sub-assemblies and electromechanical products within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. He/she must be a self-starter, work with limited supervision and be able to work in a team environment.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Strong electronic and mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to lift up to 40-60 lbs. Occasionally
    • Excellent written/verbal communication
    • Computer skills and knowledge of Office software
    • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
    • Assemble; test, tuning and troubleshooting of subassemblies and electromechanical products.
    • Work on assignments that are complex and require judgement in resolving problems and making recommendations.
    • Comply with of all company safety policies

    Education/Experience

    • 2-4 years electromechanical assembly experience
    • Knowledgeable in the use of basic test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Power supplies etc.)
    • Soldering experience
    • Successfully pass company provided IPC-J-STD-001 certification
    • Successfully pass company provided IPC/WHMA-A-620-cable and harness assembly-certification
    • Successfully pass company provided IPC-A-610-Acceptability of electronic assemblies-certification
    • Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude
    • Ability to be flexible and willing to work in a fast pace team environment.
    • Ability to read assembly prints, procedures and schematics
    • Candidate must possess U.S. citizenship or be a "U.S. Person". (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a lawful permanent resident “Green Card holder” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a ”Protected Individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)

     

    Preferred:

    • Technical background with proven software, electronic, and electro-mechanical skills as well as advanced troubleshooting & problem solving techniques
    • Knowledge of Lab view software
    • Capable of troubleshooting down to the component level
    • Prior experience with oceanographic research equipment a definite plus
    • Exposure to continuous improvement principals
