Our line of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Total Nitrogen (TN) Analyzers provide unparalleled accuracy, precision, throughput and robustness for water samples varying in quality from semiconductor-grade to municipal wastewater. In addition to the design and manufacture of the mentioned analytical equipment, we also provide service and repair to a variety of other analytical laboratory instruments as well as process control instrumentation.  

     

    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    This position constitutes work involving installing, calibrating, repairing and performing preventive maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation/equipment.

    • Work directly with clients to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repair of a wide variety of laboratory analytical equipment.
    • Disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests, and performs periodic maintenance of specialty equipment, systems and controls.
    • Operates such electronic test equipment as multi meters leak testers.
    • Inspects, evaluates and determines necessary modifications, performs complex repairs or removal of instruments or devices needing overhaul during scheduled maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot/service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
    • Records and reports abnormal function or out of tolerance conditions of equipment and initiates corrective action and documentation.
    • Locates part sources, estimates costs and purchases parts as required.
    • Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates, and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.
    • Document daily maintenance activity, repair and other work performed.
    • Communicates with customer staff the calibration, repair and operation of equipment as necessary.
    • Writes equipment, maintenance and calibration procedures
    • Calibrate and repair fume hoods
    • Calibrate scales and balances

    Qualifications

    Priori experience with:

    • Agilent 1200,1260 and 1290 HPLC
    • Agilent 6890, 7890 GC’s
    • Perkin Elmer FTIR,
    • HeadspaceTekmar Purge and Trap Atlas
    • EZ-Chrom
    • ChemStation
    • ELSD

     

    Education/Experience

    • Two-year degree, scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience.
    • Five years of experience in analytical instrumentation and/or lab experience, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or equivalent experience.
    • Demonstrated use and understanding of physical standards of mass, temperature flow and pressure. Working knowledge of computers and laboratory software.
    • Required to be able to read and work from blueprints, schematic diagrams and specification manuals.
    • Must be able to organize thought’s write reports, document processes, provide suggestions, demonstrate cost savings suggestions/process improvements and work with a wide range of clients that perform research.
    • Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
    • May require experience specific to the pharmaceutical R&D industry including the making of chemical standards using appropriate techniques for weighing, pipetting, mixing, diluting, and verifying concentrations.
    • May require an understanding of FDA regulations, GMPs, and GLPs and use of scientific notation (specific to pharmaceutical industry).
    • Must have maintenance experience on Agilent GC's and HPLC
    • Proven work ethic
