    Teledyne Marine Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing development team. This position will involve engineering support for existing products, customizing equipment for new applications, and new product development. The desired applicant will possess a strong background in electrical design as well as a working knowledge of software.

    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assist in preparing concepts and detailed analog and digital electronic designs for oceanographic vehicles and instruments.
    • Perform hands-on testing of prototypes to military standards
    • Initiate failure mode investigations and develop corrective actions
    • Investigate alternate parts, collect data, and prepare moderate-to-complex trade studies
    • With assistance, perform moderate-to-complex engineering analysis to justify design approaches
    • Interact with managers, peer engineers, and program personnel
    • Attend project meetings and participate in presentations to groups

    • BSEE degree from four-year college or university; five years related experience and/or training in the electrical engineering field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience in schematic capture and layout
    • A strong desire for hands-on work with hardware in the lab and production environments including transition to manufacturing
    • Experienced in documentation requirements for manufacturing
    • Clear, effective communication skills and the ability to clearly capture knowledge gained including analyses that describe design trade studies and technical concepts
    • Must be able to travel when required to support equipment and sales opportunities (travel will be limited)
    • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Ability to obtain Security Clearance



    • Knowledge of robotics
    • Knowledge of long distance wired telemetry
    • Knowledge of oceanographic instruments, acoustics, and vehicles
    • Skills in motors and motor controllers
    • Skills in switching power supplies, impedance matching networks, amplifiers, and microcontrollers
    • Skills in embedded programming.
    • Experience with Altium schematic capture and layout

    • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs. to include demo systems, laptop computer, and promotional materials
