    Position Summary and Responsibilities

     ***This position requires an Active Security Clearance. ***


    Teledyne Brown Engineering has multiple immediate openings to hire engineers in multiple disciplines including Systems Engineering, Simulation Software Development, and  Software Test and Performance Analysis, for work on the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Objective Simulation Framework (OSF).  OSF is the primary simulation framework utilized by MDA for simulated ground testing.

    Engineers will focus on bringing upgraded, advanced concept functionality to OSF. This tasking will include:

    • Guiding and leading new functionality throughout the lifecycle of a system from concept definition through design, test, and execution
    • Leading small multi-disciplined teams
    • Actively participating in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) with the customer and partners
    • Coordinating with Simulation Software Developers to create and maintain evolving simulation software architecture models and associated documentation
    • Involvement in Requirements Definition, Test, and Evaluation of prototype simulation software
    • Authoring White Papers to document approaches to new functionalities and capability





    Education and Experience:

    Requires a BS degree in a recognized field of engineering, plus approximately fourteen (14) years experience in applicable field.



    The Engineers desired are capable of guiding, leading, and evaluating, new functionality throughout the lifecycle of a system from concept definition through design, test, and execution.  Specific qualifications include:

    • Field related engineering degree (Systems, SW, Aero/Mechanical, Computer, etc) with 2-15 years of related experience  
    • Simulation software experience
    • Experience using Linux, MatLab, C++, and Java environments and tools to perform software testing and performance analysis
    • Demonstrated Critical Thinking abilities relating to systems architecture, software troubleshooting, and performance analysis  
    • Experience in Agile and change management controlled software development
    • Engineering experience working with BMDS elements and programs such as Ground-Based Interceptors and Kill Vehicles (GBI, EKV, and RKV), Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), AN / TPY-2 Radar, Patriot, Aegis Weapons Systems radars and missiles (SPY-1, SPY-6, Standard Missile), BMDS Sensors (SBX, CD, UEWR), EO / IR / RF Signatures, Electronic Warfare
    • Engineering experience working within the field of radar and electro-optical sciences
