The Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, programming and modification of firmware for embedded instrumentation systems and PC software to support the instrumentation during testing, configuration and operation. The candidate will be required to document troubleshooting, test setup, test execution, data analysis and reporting of test results. The candidate should be able to anticipate common problems, design limitations and the results of unusual user input on the software design. The candidate will be required to document software sufficiently for user manuals and maintenance. The individual will need to interface with personnel in other departments to gather system requirements and will need to generate status reports to document the progress. Creation of test procedures and work instructions will be required. This position will require interface with production, calibration and sales personnel.
