    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Overview:

    This position is responsible for assisting in the launch and sustainment of HSE programs and processes primarily in operations and new product development in conjunction with management objectives and oversight.


     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Ensure employee safety by proper initiation of the MOC process, removal/elimination of all known unsafe conditions, performing routine safety observations, wearing appropriate PPE and following all policies and procedures.
    • Facilitation of production ergonomics studies and implementation of policies to reduce the potential for strains/sprains.
    • Oversight of a “strike zone” optimization lifting plan which will include plans for how/where goods are stored.
    • Creation and/or updating of High Hazard Task control plans for operations and new product development.
    • Creation and updating of equipment specific lock out tag out procedures.
    • Assist in documentation control, review and uploading of SDS information.
    • Assist the HSE Committee and Local Management Safety Team with project actions throughout the facility.
    • Facilitation of safety drill training and practicing.
    • Identify obstacles to achieving HSE business goals and work with relevant process owners on necessary action to obtain stated objectives.
    • Maintain excellent communication and working relationships within all departments of the organization.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by Director of Manufacturing Operations.


    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma
    • Undergraduate/Master’s Student in Human Factors or related field.
    • Good academic standing in the enrolled program.
    • Coursework in Safety or Ergonomics is strongly preferred.
    • Previous work or studies in a manufacturing environment preferred.
