    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY

    The position is responsible for coordinating activities with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment tools, parts, supplies to MRP or requisitions. Assists Engineers in product search during product development. Negotiates contracts with vendors to the mutual benefit of TAPI and the vendor. Reduces cost of products and services to TAPI goals.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Work on special project getting RoHS certifications for purchase parts
    • Planner/buyer for assigned commodities.
    • Resolve production part shortages.
    • Produce cost reductions.
    • Effectively manage MRB material.
    • Negotiate and issue purchase orders, kan ban purchase agreements, commodity agreements and blanket purchase orders.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement supporting dynamic manufacturing requirements.
    • ERP/MRP working knowledge required, Microsoft AX ERP system experience a plus.
    • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with the ability to meet required deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Team player with strong initiative and leadership potential.
    • Commodities experience including but not limited to chemicals, masks, labels, UV lamps, pumps motors, PCA components and assemblies, consigned or turneky.
    • Knowledge of use and management of kan ban purchase orders and purchase agreements.
    • College degree preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • The physical requirements of the position require the ability to sit at a computer workstation for an extended period of time with repetitive utilization of a computer, keyboard, mouse and desk phone.
    • The position will require the ability to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, bend, and lift no more than 20 lbs.
