    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls currently has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Factory Quality Inspection Supervisor for our Quality Assurance division.  Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for supervising a team of factory quality inspectors in the field of avionic equipment, electronic sub-assemblies, and test equipment.


    Key Functions

    • Supervise the day-to-day Quality and Inspection activities in the Factory
    • Coordinates with Production Manager and Leads to determine scheduling and inspection priorities
    • Assigns day to day tasks to inspectors to meet schedule and priority requirements
    • Ensure inspectors compliance with standards and programs (safety, duty time, quality and company policies and procedures) during work shift
    • Provides technical guidance and administrative support to the Inspectors
    • Track department’s and individual inspector’s performance
    • Generate reports showing department’s and individual inspector’s performance
    • Reports unresolved inspection issues to the Factory Quality Manager
    • Reports regulatory issues to the Factory Quality Manager
    • Facilitates the factory in-process rejection reports dispositions and approvals. Knowledge of TipQA a plus
    • Perform In-process Inspection, Final Inspection, and shipping inspection of electronic assemblies to drawing requirements
    • Provide leadership to product inspection team while enhancing workflow, productivity, and efficiency in the areas of in-process inspection, final inspection and shipping inspection
    • Provide guidance on technical issues, workmanship standards, engineering documentation clarification, First Article Inspection, and the timely tracking and completion of factory in-process rejection reports preliminary review for MRB disposition
    • Assist quality engineering in root cause analysis & containment action(s), and recommends and supports the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate recurring non-conformances
    • The candidate should have an excellent technical understanding of PCBs, CCA Assemblies, and electronic assemblies. This includes IPC-610 class 2, conformal coating, IPC-620: crimping, wire harness, mechanical assembly, sheet metal inspection, and cosmetic inspection
    • The candidate should have experience in performing First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102
    • The job may require to-work in an ITAR environment with direct access to electronic components and assemblies defined under and pertaining to defense and military related technologies
    • Responsible for employee performance management 

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervises 15 + employees

     

    Supervisory responsibilities include: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • At least a minimum of five (5) years’ in Quality Assurance in Aerospace, 
    • At least a minimum of three (3) years’ as a Quality Control Supervisor
    • Proficient in Microsoft application tools: Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Project, Visio
    • Must have an excellent technical understanding of PCBs, CCA Assemblies, and electronic assemblies which includes IPC-610 class 2, conformal coating, crimping, wire harness, mechanical assembly, sheet metal inspection
    • Part of the MRB, CCB, and improvement teams
    • This position can involve up to 5% domestic and international travel
    • Must be a U.S. Person due to iTAR restrictions
    • Subject to FAA/DOT Program 

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering or Mechanical
    • FAA PMA environment
    • Experience with File-Maker Pro Data Base
    • Experience with TIPQA Data Base
    • Recent IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-600
