Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Controls currently has an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Technician for our Repair Station division.  Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing analysis, inspection, testing, accurate troubleshooting, repair rework by ensuring compliance is within the FAA regulations for Part 145 repair shop is maintained.


Key Functions

  • Performs maintenance, preventative maintenance and modifications to avionics equipment IAW FAR Part 145 repair station regulations
  • Performs preliminary analyses, alignments, light to moderate troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronics at a level that meets or
  • exceeds the expected productivity in accordance with the protocol and the FAA certified repair station requirements
  • Accurately troubleshooting faults in electronic circuits and mechanical systems using various types of test equipment e.g., Special Test Equipment "STE", Automated Test Equipment "ATE", data analyzers, microprocessors emulators, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters
  • Perform repair rework using solder equipment to acceptable IPC J-STD specifications
  • Comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, ISO procedures, and Teledyne Controls policies and procedures Inspects all



  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year of accredited schooling in aviation electronics
  • At least a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ of experience in Aviation, Airlines, and/or Military experience
  • Mandate to participate in the FAA Anti-drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 40 and 14 CFR part 120
  • Must have a solid understanding of the FAA regulations
  • Experience in troubleshooting to board/component level analog/digital with some assistance
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings; Capable of visualizing from a two-dimensional view, converting left-hand to
  • right-hand views and understanding symbols, flag notes, and general notes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret production illustrations (PI), component maintenance manual (CMM), wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Must be able to work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks; possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR restrictions 


  • Recent IPC-A-610 class 2 soldering certification
