    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Overview:

    The purpose of this position is to develop process controls and documentation for new and existing products.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering and Project Engineering to develop and improve assembly and test procedures.
    • Provide input to the design review process for the review and development of assembly and test procedures.
    • Monitor and collect process data to improve product routers and efficiency standards.
    • Review of procedures and routers in a timely manner to support manufacturing readiness.
    • Improve process capability while maintaining or improving quality standards.
    • Assist with Failure Analysis and problem solving to determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events utilizing Lean tools to improve process efficiencies and throughput.
    • Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) events.
    • Train and monitor operations personnel on new processes and technology.
    • Perform other duties as directed by the Process Engineering Manager.


    Education and Experience:

    • BS degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Engineering Technology
    • 1-3 years of Process Engineering experience:
      • Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and/or Optical assemblies preferred.
    • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred


    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Technical Writing Skills- ability to create technical procedures for manufacturing processes in ways that are easily understood at basic levels.
    • Excellent communication skills, including verbal & written communication.
    • Possess good project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
    • Working knowledge of Solidworks, CAD or similar drafting software.
    • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
    • Proficient in MSOffice programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint.
