In this senior design engineering position you will design complex components and subsystems operating in the DC to 40 GHz frequency range. The work includes developing initial architecture and block diagrams using system analysis, frequency planning, and standard circuit and EM CAD tools. Evaluation and selection of device types including BJT and HEMT for low noise and power. Design or usage of LNA, PA, filters, mixers, frequency multipliers, isolators, couplers, and phase locked oscillator and synthesizers. Optimize tradeoffs between gain, noise figure, power compression, spurious, bandwidth. Hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Lead design reviews and give presentations to management and customers.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to find creative and innovative solutions. Ability to design RF and microwave circuitry using CAD tools such as MWO, ADS, HFSS, Sonnet, Spice. Strong lab skills using test equipment, and ability to tune and align circuitry. Ability to work independently as well collaboratively as part of a team, and be flexible within a dynamic environment. Ability to be organized and meet project goals and deadlines. Communicate clearly with excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills. 8 to 10 years of experience. BS degree required, MS or PhD preferred and able to attain Security Clearance. U.S. Citizen.
