    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls is seeking a creative and talented individual with a passion for technology to drive reliability and qualification of hardware products to meet and exceed our consumers' durability expectations.


    Key Functions

    • Tracks Corrective Actions for proper implementation and effectiveness.
    • Investigate Field Return Products for root cause of failures and provide corrective action recommendations; investigates and resolves production.
    • Support Factory process flow by investigating production failure trends for root cause
    • Use assembly drawings, schematics, and design documentation to troubleshoot and recommend test improvements
    • Review part level documentation to assess intended part function and probable part level failure modes
    • Interface with internal Teledyne departments to determine failure severity and production impact
    • Propose corrective actions (both interim and long term) and monitor for resolution and implementation in a timely manner in support of internal and external customers
    • Prepare formal corrective action responses for submittal to OEM customers
    • Prepare and review production test procedures and implement improved production flow for circuit card and unit level programming and testing
    • Support Obsolescence part replacement activity with part, circuit card, unit, and system level testing and validation
    • Lab skills - Must have demonstrated lab skills utilizing an Oscilloscope, Current probe, and other instruments to document proper and improper circuit functions



    • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Science, Technology or an Engineering Discipline with a focus on digital Electronic theory and practical circuit implementation
    • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in an Electrical Engineering Discipline will be considered with appropriate professional experience of a minimum of seven (7) years’ in:
      • Reliability and life estimation of electro-mechanical products using computer aided engineering design tools, statistics and finite element models
      • Developing mechanical functioning, environmental stress and accelerated life tests to evaluate product performance
      • Managing multiple design qualification activities and development schedules 
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of statistical techniques and models is required to analyze test data and estimate product life cycle performance
    • Must be able to write root cause analysis reports using data and conclusions from multiple disciplines
    • Strong skill-set in analysis and problem solving as well as clear verbal communication to cross-functional teams and clear documentation to perform root cause analysis reports and drive corrective action by using data and conclusions from multiple resources.
    • Expected to use knowledge of process capability for electronic component production as well as system-level performance requirements to establish critical to quality performance metrics
    • Interface with manufacturing partners and component suppliers to develop strategy for qualification and standardizing methodologies and processes
    • This position will travel up to 10% of domestic travel may be required with notice
