Position Summary and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help direct and coordinate daily activities involved in producing Sub Safe Level 1 products.
  • Establishing and/or adjusting work procedures and manpower to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and employee safety
  • Assisting workers in solving problems
  • Help implement plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals
  • Assist with counseling, training and development of direct reports


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in manufacturing, Sub Safe Level One preferred.
  • Associates Degree and or supervisory certifications
  • Prior Lead experience preferable
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and World Class Manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures is desirable
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to use basic high school math skills

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking team environment
  • Ability to work with little or no notice of overtime when needed
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications and procedures
  • Ability to use hand tools, soldering and measuring
  • Good interpersonal communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Computer Literate- experience with Microsoft Office,  ERP/MRP (helpful) 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Optical /Electrical Assemblers
  • Chockfast Assemblers
  • Test Personnel

Training Requirements:

  • IFS Overview
  • Quality Systems
  • Hazardous Communications

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Repetitive motions

Work Environment:

Production floor environment 


Personal Protective Equipment:

Safety glasses required at all times  


Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
