Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Battery Products is seeking a motivated Field Sales Professional to provide sales and supporting the North American West Region by utilizing solution-selling skills to generate revenue by developing the West Coast Region potentially through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales.


Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for winning market share, driving increased demand back to distributors, and managing distributor inventory, service, and quality levels.
  • Responsible for $2M to $5M in annual sales base.
  • Work with marketing to develop and implement strategies and programs to convert fleet decision makers in your region.
  • Visit and convert (FBO’s, MRO’s, Flight Schools, Fleet Operators, etc.) to Gill branded products from competitors and grow your base using samples, presentations, promotions, and sales programs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with distributors. Monitor and analyze their sales trends. Negotiate their inventory levels. Implement co-promotions. Assist in improving service and quality levels. Drive new product and new certification initial inventory “load in”
  • Represents company at trade associations, conferences and meetings to promote company and products
  • Monitor end user customer preferences to determine future focus of sales efforts
  • Develop relationships with existing customer base, and nominate new distribution candidates

Metrics: measured versus assigned targets

  • Assigned Distributor monthly and annual bookings and shipped revenue
  • New product/new application unit bookings during initial distributor load in promotion window.
  • Number of Fleet promotion deals signed in geographical region quarterly and annually
  • Compliance to allocated expense budgets and company procedures
  • On time completion of assigned tasks


  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from a four-year College or University, focusing on Business, Marketing or in any related field; Combination of education and experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree is acceptable
  • At least three (3) to seven (7) years’ of experience in product fields sales, highly preferred in Aircraft or a similar environment where primary field customers are mechanics or technicians or their Supervisors
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Must have a solid understanding of the commercial aviation market
  • Must have strong verbal communication and clear written documentation skills
  • Up to 50% Domestic travel is expected for this position
