Position Summary and Responsibilities

Results Expected:


  1. Reviews, stages and fills all factory orders by using knowledge acquired from working with units and knowing their product standards by verifying order status and committing goods to customers orders using computer terminals and assigned programs, by matching inventory numbers, descriptions and quantities, and by following written and verbal procedures and directives. (40%)


  1. Inspects and tests all units for quality in form, function and fit by following test procedures and verbal instructions. (10%)


  1. Assembles all units to the configuration specified by the customer on the factory orders making final adjustments for fit and performance by using hand and power tools and following written  and verbal instructions. (10%)


  1. Insures customer satisfaction by expediting time critical orders and by reporting quality problems with goods and discrepancies and factory orders to the appropriate departments. (10%)


  1. Ensures the accuracy of the department's inventory including reduced value inventory (RVI) by completing store room pick reports, shop routers, material lists, inventory check-outs, bin transfers, RAN's, and credit memos being sure to accurately record and report serial numbers of units being returned, pulled for orders, or completed from assembly.(5%)


  1. Maintains inventory accuracy by receiving, warehousing, issuing, and preparing all materials needed for shipment to customers. (5%)


  1. Audits the department inventory by comparing actual inventory to reported inventory and by reporting and correcting discrepancies. (5%)


  1. Communicates with the various departments concerned with customer factory orders by answering questions about the status of orders and reporting problems with shipping orders due to stock shortages or order discrepancies.(5%)


  1. Assists in maintaining department proficiency by doing training in techniques and procedures and by recommending and writing changes to products and to department procedures. (2%)


  1. Writes clear and accurate descriptions of problems found while doing final inspection by comparing discrepancies to written procedures and specifications.(2%)


  1. Documents total hours worked by accurately completing daily time sheets.(2%)


  1. Maintains a clean, safe and orderly personal work area by performing routine clean-up tasks and major cleaning tasks as needed.(2%)

  1. In-depth knowledge of packing techniques and demonstrated familiarity with all applicable shipping methods and documentation.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively under limited supervision.
  3. Demonstrated ability to comprehend written instructions.
  4. Requires occasional stooping, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting objects of up to 80 lbs from floor or knee level to waist height.  Requires regular reaching, standing, walking, and fingering,.  Occasional talking and hearing to convey or exchange information.
  5. Work is performed in a heavy environment with exposure to chemical fumes.
  6. Work requires visual ability to see at/or within arm's reach.
  7. Work requires analyzing data and ability to compute basic math functions.
