    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    The Associate Buyer will evaluate, select, negotiate, place, and otherwise administer procurement contracts of varying expense for off the shelf items and outside material processing.

     

    Other Responsibilities:

     

    • Initiates RFQs/RFPs, review bids, negotiates best pricing and availability to meet schedule and program budget.
    • Facilitates solutions to schedule changes and issues with suppliers.
    • Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, safety standards including all government FAR and DFAR documentation requirements.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    Requires two years of college or college level training or equivalent, plus two years of related experience in procurement activities or seven years of specifically related experience.

     

    Other Requirements:

     

    Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deliver on key deadlines. Will be required to quickly learn the company’s purchasing and inventory processes and procedures and adhere to the company’s strict standards of documentation and internal controls to accurately and efficiently process and place purchase orders. Required the ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a cross-functional team and know when to ask for guidance. Excellent verbal, written and professional interpersonal skills is necessary for this position. The qualified candidate will possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel.

     

    Strongly Preferred:

    Bachelor of Science in a recognized field of engineering, business, or equivalent.
