Position Summary and Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Creates wire, cable, and assembly quotations in accordance with customer requests and based on customer designs. Works closely with sales personnel to ensure adequate and accurate information is obtained for quotation accuracy. Works closely with engineering to ensure design reviews and specifications are completed as necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes various methods to gather information for identifying customer and vendor specifications including e-mail, customer drawings, internal drawings, and sales RFQ forms.
  • Works with engineering, and manufacturing departments by calling design reviews to ensure product is quoted correctly and designed for manufacturability.
  • Work with the quality department to define test capabilities and costs for quote test requirements.
  • At times use various physical and mathematical tools to design product in Auto Cad or other computer based drafting programs.
  • Quotes all wire, cable, and assembly products, including all raw material, purchased material, direct labor, overhead and SGA. Understanding the calculations and methods to obtain most accurate costs possible.
  • Make visible to all personnel the quote status of all parts in que.
  • Meet quote expectations and deadline dates.
  • Communicates with vendors to obtain pricing for quote purposes based on specific quantities and product specifications.
  • Reviews all incoming customer quote requests to ensure information is complete, revisions are accurate and updated.
  • Develop and store all quotes and information in a manner that would allow access and information gathering by necessary personnel.
  • Establish and continuously support quote sheets, forms, files, etc. for the department.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree
  • Minimum 2-4 years working in a manufacturing environment, with detailed understanding of product design and mfg. processes.
  • Prior experience in sales is preferred but not required

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of MSOffice programs (Word, Project, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment
