Position Summary and Responsibilities

  1. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned)
  2. Prepares customer orders for shipment by verifying items against the manufacturing order and Bill of Material, adequately packing, and labeling based on packaging best practices and correct work instructions
  3. Maintains an organized shipping area by keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition, maintaining an accurate count of packaging materials and supplies, and notifying Purchasing
  4. Department and Production Supervisor of low inventory levels
    Recommends appropriate packaging by participating in new box and insert designs with
  5. Manufacturing and Product Design Engineering
    Ensures required document such as Certificate of Conformity/Compliance, Certificate of Origins, and serial number labels are included in accordance with customer and company procedures
  6. Assist in achieving the goals of Teledyne SSI by performing other assembly duties as assigned.  Assembly duties include building of mechanical subassembly parts, components, and tubing kits using assembly instructions and drawingsAssists as needed to ship products to customers using the UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers and U.S. Customs ACE System
  7. Assists in achieving the goals of Scientific Systems Inc. by performing other duties as assigned. Accepting the responsibilities of performing other duties when assigned (in most cases, and it's preferred, these tasks be volunteered for).

Qualifications

Education and/or experience

 

  1. In-depth knowledge of packing techniques and demonstrated familiarity with all product and applicable shipping methods and documentation
  2. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under limited supervision
  3. Ability to comprehend written instructions
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office and MRP system
     

 

Equipment Operated

 

  1. Sealed Air “Instapak” Packaging System
  2. Pneumatic staplers and tape dispensers
  3. Hand arbor presses
  4. Miscellaneous assembly fixtures
