The Manufacturing Estimator will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates ranging from (ROM ) Rough Order of Magnitude level to Firm Fixed price estimates.
Education and Experience:
Requires approximately twelve years concentrated technical experience in a manufacturing environment or the equivalent in combined education and experience, including at least four years in responsible positions involving analysis, design, development, or test. However, assignments are primarily made based on demonstrated technical and leadership ability.
The qualified candidate must possess excellent computer skills and knowledge of current industry estimating software. Must be able to generate Bill of Material (BOM's) from drawings. Generate Engineering estimates for task without a final design (design build). Industry knowledge and experience desired include CNC and manual machining, welding (submerged, gas tungsten, flux cored, gas metal, and shielded arc), sheet metal forming, sandblasting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and knowledge of mechanical inspection, Non Destructive Testing. Requires a high degree of oral and written communication skills.
