Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Facilities Engineering Technician II will work under the guidance of the Facilities Management Team to perform work that requires both computer and physical tasking. This position will focus on records management, maintaining accurate square footage utilization and work with vendors that provide numerous services around the campus.

 

Other Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as Record Retention Administrator for Teledyne Brown, ensuring all records are being stored per current policy/procedure. Be responsible for the movement, storage, and disposal of all records. Maintain data base of Facility work orders and assets. Train others as required.
  • Maintain a current data base of square footage allocation for the company. Runs reports and keeps monthly records for future audits.
  • Assist the Facilities Management Team with daily task and other work order activities as required. Coordinate the efforts of the Janitorial and Moving service contractors as required. Coordinates the required efforts with the help of other Facilities personnel when required.
  • Works with the Landscape contractor to make sure all areas of the campus are being maintained properly. Collects and reviews checklist. Evaluates performance and helps identify opportunities for improvement. Submits recommendations for recompete.
  • Prepares Statements of Work for small projects and other task that may arise. Assist with the activities of other type Contractors to include Roofing, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, etc.
  • Assist the Team in the performance of all ranges of tasks when required. Keep the customer first attitude when completing tasks.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

 

Requires a high school education or equivalent, plus college level courses in subjects applicable to assignments would be a plus or equivalent, and approximately four (4) years’ experience in the same or closely related work.

 

The qualified candidate will be a Self-starter, dependable, resourceful and highly motivated.

 

Must be willing to travel when the need arises as well as work overtime, holidays and weekends when required.
