The DMC Technical Operations Lead is first level manager who responsible for the oversight of the activities of the Data Management Coordinator (DMC) Specialist Teams related to aspects of the International Space Station’s (ISS) onboard data, video, and network systems that support payload operations. This oversight includes ensuring that all technical forums have appropriate participation from the team, reviewing of the technical content of system upgrades, participating in special studies, leading troubleshooting activities, assisting in instruction and training of new personnel as well as proficiency and currency training for certified personnel. The DMC Technical Operations Lead will also perform management/administrative tasks such as weekly report inputs, staffing planning to support contract management reviews, process weekly timesheets for the employees in the DMC Technical Operations group, and employee performance evaluations.
This position will participate in the weekly Space Systems Operations Management Team meetings to provide team status and elevate issues that need to be addressed to the Space Systems Operations Branch management. The DMC Technical Operations Lead must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the DMC flight controller position.
Education and Experience:
Requires a B.S. degree in a recognized field of engineering, plus approximately two (2) years professional experience performing analysis, design, and/or test assignments.
Must hold a current ISS Data Management Coordinator (DMC) flight controller certification
Must have a minimum of three years experience in supporting real-time operations of space-related payload operations
