    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    The Business Development Representative recommends, initiates and coordinates overall business development strategy and plans at the company level relating to the full range of company products and services or in assigned area of concentration relating to designated customers, programs, product lines or geographical areas.


    Other Responsibilities:


    • Applies original concepts and independent action in complex business development research and performs original research to analyze and solve unusual business development/sales problems.
    • Maintains consistent contact of a highly significant nature with company and customer executives and government officials to promote business development/sales of company products and services.
    • Collects, evaluates and applies the most complex data requiring rapid correlation and assimilation in order to recommend, develop and carry out business development plans. Will serve as capture manager and/or proposal manager occasionally.
    • Remains fully cognizant of current and future legislation appropriation and authorizations which affect company business development and recommends appropriate action to senior company leaders and/or directs lobbying efforts to encourage favorable legislature action from the company business viewpoint.


    Education and Experience:


    Normally sixteen years of training and experience are required. A degree in engineering is highly desirable but a degree in business, economics, or related technical discipline is acceptable and may be substituted for up to one year of experience and a Masters degree may be substituted for an additional two years. Requires a minimum of two years of experience as a Business Development Representative II or a directly related position as a portion of the sixteen total years of experience and training. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing are required. Proven ability to perform the assigned business development/sales function is the overriding consideration for this position.


    Strongly Preferred:

    Experience working with or around NASA as well as the International Space Station (ISS).
