Position Summary and Responsibilities

 

Works alongside the FPA Test team in developing appropriate test capabilities, characterizing and testing TIS products, undertaking failure analysis and communicating test results within the company and to external customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops new infrared and visible Focal Plane Array test stations that meet requirements flown down to Test by Systems Engineering
  • Develops novel approaches for FPA and camera testing
  • Test a mix or current and legacy FPAs using both new and legacy test hardware”.
  • Designs and builds test equipment (electronics and dewars)
  • Leads the development of test stations from concept through release into production
  • Verify and validate test systems and supports debugging/tuning of ROICs, ASICs and detectors
  • Creates detailed test procedures and related work instructions
  • Determines error budgets and evaluates parts against program specifications and for future applications
  • Provides test data analysis in the forms of reports and presentations to program managers, internal engineering teams and customers
  • Develops new analysis methods
  • Tests infrared and visible FPAs and CMOS imaging devices,  creates reports and presents results to customers
  • Supports production testing with troubleshooting, training and modification to procedures and hardware as needed
  • Frequently works with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of data
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Basic understanding of optics and testing optical systems from the Visible thru the long wave IR.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with ten (10) years of experience or Master with six (6) years of experience
  • Hands-on experience in designing and building test equipment
  • Experience in the evaluation of Focal Plane Arrays and ROICs

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with IDL a plus
  • Intimate knowledge of IR testing and visible imaging systems
  • Excellent team spirit and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, computers, and semiconductors as well as experience with electronics laboratory equipment and computer programming

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering design and troubleshooting, infrared and visible cameras, CMOS integrated circuits, wafer probing,  and ISO 9000 / 9001 processes and procedures

  • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
