Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing day to day HR functions including, but not limited to, recruiting, employee relations, benefits, leave of absences, HRIS, training and development, performance management and Affirmative Action Programs. The Senior HR Generalist performs work under limited supervision and exercises discretion and independent judgment.   Interacts with and provides exceptional customer service to all levels of staff as well as individuals external to the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a coach and consultant to management and employees on key organizational issues and HR policies and processes.
  • Drives change within the organization as a positive role model.
  • Investigates and resolves employee complaints and concerns, documenting issues and escalating to management as appropriate.
  • Works with hiring managers to develop a recruiting strategy and perform full cycle recruitment activities including, candidate sourcing, interviews and evaluations of candidates for all open positions.
  • Coordinates performance reviews and merit increase process. Works with managers to ensure reviews are written and communicated appropriately and completed in a timely manner.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares, coordinates and maintains affirmative action/EEO program including training, community outreach, audit preparation and oversight, and annual development of EEO report. Maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to OFCCP/EEO regulations.
  • Coordinates termination process with management, payroll and employee. Conducts employee exit interviews and out-processing.
  • Performs other Human Resources related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field.
  • 5-10 years experience in a Human Resources role.
  • HR Experience in the manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is highly desirable.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Federal and CA employment laws and regulations.
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team to build effective internal and external relationships.
  • Must be able to act in an ethical manner and maintain highly confidential and proprietary information.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Excellent listening and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Candidate must possess U.S. citizenship or be a "U.S. Person". (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a lawful permanent resident "Green Card holder" as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a "Protected Individual" as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)
