Position Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for file maintenance of engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, product proposals and documentation. Types process and status reports, assigns and monitors document numbers. May perform operator functions on blueprint, copy machines for reproduction of documentation. Maintains special catalogs or files for unique projects. Be able to follow ISO 9001 procedures. Works on assignments that are moderately complex where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Maintains MRB, Contact and other data bases (Access databases).


Other duties will include incoming inspection of mechanical assemblies in accordance to drawings, procedures and controlled documentation. Responsible for performing packaging line and manufacturing inspections, sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. Ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company standards. May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated. Blueprint reading and a working knowledge of mechanical test and inspection equipment. May also perform source inspection and follow-up at supplier sites.


This is a Temporary position duration less or greater than 6 months.


Essential Functions

  • Document Control functions including electronic & physical routing, filing, change evaluation and revision.
  • Database Management, data entry, processing, distribution and maintenance of controlled documentation.
  • Administer and manage Document Change Requests, Document Change Notices,.
  • Process document revisions and approval routing, coordinate the Configuration Control Board.
  • Receiving inspection activities include inspection of received components and assemblies.
  • Inspect, analyze and record fitness for utilization through purchase orders, drawings and engineering standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.





  • High school graduate with a minimum of 3 years experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 procedures highly desired
  • Must have knowledge of and experience interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability learn to use measuring instruments and mechanical inspection equipment not limited to rulers, calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks.
  • Must have intermediate level skills with Microsoft applications such as Adobe Pro, Access, Excel, ERP and SQL.
  • Must be highly detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while meeting strict deadline.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and able to communicate professionally and concisely.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical requirements for this position may require occasional lifting up to but no more than 30 lbs. without assistance.
  • Frequently seated at a workstation utilizing computer and testing equipment, mouse, and keyboard.
  • Other physical activities may include but not limited to standing, bending, stooping, walking, sitting and repetitive use of hand tools.
