Position Summary and Responsibilities

Summary

 

The Production Scheduler/Expeditor plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for ensuring all materials are in house for all production builds.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Responsible for ensuring all sub-assemblies are built on time for upper level assembly operations.
  • Identifies shortages on the floor and reports to purchasing; filling job shortages as they become available.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors or other personnel to assess status, availability and progress to look up shortages, time availability to create job projections.
  • Responsible for production job closures and review job reconciliation.
  • Reviews production schedules, work orders, POs and Sales Orders to determine material requirements.
  • Disposition of floor material rejections.
  • May assist with pulling kits to keep production line moving.
  • Prepares production reports: aged WIP, etc.
  • Maintains work order control and monitors job costing.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • At least four (4) years directly related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

Physical Requirements

  • Requires frequent sitting and repetitive movements of the wrist, hands and/or fingers.
  • Occasional standing, walking, twisting & bending at the neck/waist, stooping or kneeling. 
  • Requires clear vision and ability to work at a computer station for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach below and above shoulder level.
